Class Descriptions

We want to make sure that you choose the right class for your child.  We hope that the following information is helpful and please contact us if you need to know more..

Tots Dance Class (from walking to 3 yrs)

 

A fabulous first dance class where Mummy (or Daddy, Grandparent or childminder) joins in too!  Our Tots Dance classes include lots of clapping, jumping and bouncing to fun music and is a great introduction to dance for boys and girls until they are ready to come in to a class by themselves.

Preschool Dance Class (from 3yrs)

 

A ballet inspired creative dance programme that has been carefully structured to nurture a love of dance and movement.  We use lots of props and inspiring music to help little ones try their first dance steps such as skipping, galloping, marching and jumping.  Our Preschool Dance classes are suitable for boys and girls from 3 years old until they start school.  We also offer 'Tiny Tappers' a tap dance class for Preschoolers (from 3yrs).

Pre-Primary Ballet (from 5 yrs / school yr R)

 

Our Pre-Primary Ballet classes are for school age children to learn new steps, feet and arm positions with lots of opportunity to put them together in imaginative dances.

Classes held in Caversham, Emmer Green and Woodley.

Primary and Grade One Ballet (from school year 1 and above)

In our Primary and Grade One Ballet classes our pupils follow the RAD Class Award syllabus which allows them to develop technical, musical and performance skills.

Grade Two Ballet to Grade Five Ballet

 

Pupils in Grades Two to Five study the RAD Graded Examination syllabus which consists of three main disciplines – ballet, free movement and character.

  • RAD Graded Examinations

 

Classes held in Caversham and Woodley.

Grade Six Ballet to Grade Eight Ballet

 

These major level classes are ideal for pupils who wish to continue working towards graded examinations and can be attended in addition to or instead of a vocational class.

Vocational Ballet Classes: Intermediate Foundation, Intermediate, Advanced Foundation

 

The Vocational Graded Examinations in Dance Syllabus provides an in-depth study of ballet including pointe work for female pupils. This highly focused and practical training education can prepare students for a dance, or dance related, career and therefore requires a level of maturity and technical aptitude.  Pupils studying at this level will be required to attend more than one lesson per week.

Tap Dance – 'Tiny Tappers' for Preschoolers (from 3 yrs) Junior (from 4 yrs), Senior (from 8yrs) and Intermediate (from 13 yrs)

 

Beginners and the more experienced tappers are welcome at our friendly tap dance classes where it’s all about the rhythm!  Our tap pupils are given the opportunity to develop their skills following our specially structured programme that enables them to progress through the IDTA Medal Test Awards and take part in performances.

Street Dance – Mini & Junior  (from 4 yrs), Senior (from 10 yrs)

 

A high energy dance class for boys and girls who want to learn new moves, meet friends and have a great time in our specially structured classes.  No experience is necessary and you can start at any age from 4 years upwards.
